Menuchin, Uriel (“Uri”)


Uriel, son of David and Esther Menuchin, was born on November 15, 1933 in Tel Aviv. Uri was drafted into the IDF in May 1952. He was a courageous officer in the war, and when he was wounded, he commanded his company, and in the most terrible battles he did not lose his faith in a pure and good world. He fell in the battle of Ras al-Aish, which was in Sinai, on the 24th of Sivan 5727 (3.7.1967). Laid a pregnant wife and two daughters. His son was born about four months after the fall of his father and named after him. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Rehovot.
