Menachem, Daniel (Danny)
Ben Zohara and Eliyahu. He was born on the 17th of Tishrei 5717 (October 12, 1957) in the moshav of Mahsia near Jerusalem. He began his studies at the King Saul Elementary School in Beit She’an and later in the Meir High School in the town. He was an outstanding student, diligent and industrious, who truly loved learning. His favorite subjects were geography, history and literature. He spent a lot of time reading and resolutely solved difficult logic puzzles, but he also found time for social activity and was a member of his youth in the Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed movement. He was most sensitive to the people with whom he had come into contact, caring, and strict moral values. After graduating from middle school, he stopped studying and began working to support his family. In February 1976 Danny was drafted into the IDF after completing a pre-military driving course and serving as a heavy truck driver, and during the previous period, Danny was responsible for his family, took care of his brother and tried to help in any way possible. After his release, he married Thelma and moved to Moshav Maona, the home of Thelma, where they had two children, Elyashiv and Ariel, and Dani began to work as a maintenance man and technical warehouse of the regional school in Maale Yosef. The school is a professional, orderly and punctual employee, responsible and efficient and, above all, a pleasant, modest and reliable person His boats in his work also won the Outstanding Employee Award for the year 5749 of the Ma’ale Yosef Regional Council. On the 17th of Tevet 5740 (14.1.1990) while serving in the reserves, Danny fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Ma’alot. He left behind a pregnant woman, two sons, a mother, four brothers – Shimon, Meir, Avi and David and a sister – Yaffa. Three months after he fell, his third son, Eldan, was born.
