Matzliach, Kamel (Sammy)

Kamel (Sami), son of Esther and Yitzhak, was born on November 3, 1949, in Istanbul, Turkey. Kamel was drafted into the IDF at the end of November 1967 and assigned to Nahal, where he served for a year and a half. Kamel was drafted and sent to the Sinai front, and on October 17, 1973, Camel was injured and killed in one of the Gidi passes. He was brought to rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul and left behind a wife, son, mother, brother, and two sisters, and was promoted to the rank of corporal.
