Marmor, David-Naftali


Son of Yehudit and Eliahu, was born on the 27th of Tevet 5727 (27.12.1926) in Safed, the fourth generation of those born in Israel. When he was eight, he died from his father and grew up in his grandfather’s house. After completing elementary school in Haifa, he began to work. When he was 16 years old, he went to train the “HaNoar HaOved” in Givat Hashlosha and joined the Palmach, where he worked as a mechanic and the Arab who worked on his books and expanded his education. “After a month of enlisting, he wrote home a letter full of hope and faith, announcing that his unit would be sent for a few days’ vacation, but that his unit had been sent to the battles on the way to Jerusalem and had not returned from there. Jerusalem Operation “Yevusi”, designed to create a Jewish territorial contiguity within the city and between Jerusalem and the settlements The Harel Brigade moved to Jerusalem and on April 22-23 attacked the Shuafat, Beit Iksa, and Nebi Samuel areas, and the attack began at dawn, and the force was forced to withdraw and to retreat in light of the fire. Today, there were many casualties, and on this day, on April 24, 1948, he was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
