Malka, Moshe (Danny)


Ben Tamar and Armand. He was born on the 30th of Tishrei 5725 (30.9.1964) in Acre. A fourth son of a family of six. Moshe was named after his grandfather, who was a brave and strong man and lived until the age of one hundred and five. Moshe attended the Bialik Elementary School in Acre and the ORT vocational high school in mechanics. He was an active boy who had many hobbies. He participated in field-tennis circles, liked folk dancing, and was also involved in the arts such as copper smithing and wood sculpture. At the beginning of November 1982, Moshe was drafted into a tank mechanic’s training course and was assigned to serve as a tank mechanic at the Armored Corps School. After a while, Moshe set out for an officers’ course. At the end of the course he was assigned to serve as an arms and ammunition officer at the division headquarters and in the Barak Battalion in the 7th Brigade. He loved the Golan Heights landscapes and traveled extensively in these areas. After a period he was stationed in the southern region, at the base of the field of Yemen. Moshe advanced from the rank of second lieutenant to the rank of captain, who was a human commander and always understood his subordinates, while demanding completeness and precision. Devoted, doing his work faithfully. On February 9, 1992, Moshe fell in a car accident near the Kastina junction, during his journey from the base where he served for the unit’s educational activity, and was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya. After his death, he was promoted to the rank of Major. The family members commemorated his memory in a Torah scroll donated to the synagogue by Rabbi Chaim Pinto and Rabbi Ya’akov Abu Hatzeira in Acre.
