The eldest son of Rina and Abraham. Born in Beit Shean on 6.11.1978, was a brother of Shiran, Moran and Bat-El, and spent his educational life in Beit Shean: nursery school, kindergarten, kindergarten, elementary school and finishing He successfully completed his studies at the ORT Beit She’an Religious High School. Mickey loved going out with friends, listening to music and watching television. He played soccer in the boys’ soccer team at Hapoel Beit Shean. In the high school yearbook, Michael is described as “a quiet and friendly boy, with a pleasant and innocent look on his face / the class always comes running, good grades he gets / his classmates praises / gets along with everyone / and he is the best in the world …” When he was drafted, Mickey chose to follow his father, who served for twelve years in the Border Police. In March 1997, he joined the Border Police, and at the end of three months he was transferred to the Border Police in the Judea and Samaria Area. When he successfully completed the course he began training novices in the role of a lieutenant colonel. Mickey’s ambition was to continue the path he had chosen, to reach the senior officer corps in the Border Police, and to be, as he actually proved, an educator. But Mickey did not have time to finish. On the 5th of Tammuz 5759 (5.7.1999), while he was with his company in a sports series at the Wingate Institute, Mickey drowned at the beach at the age of twenty. He was laid to rest in the military section of Beit Shean cemetery. Survived by his parents, brother and two sisters. The personal inscription was engraved on his tombstone: “How was the eye of the eye, washed away by the waves of water, suddenly in a blink of an eye?” “I had the privilege of commanding your father, Michael, 10 years ago at the Border Police, and from my acquaintance with the family and the education you received, it seems only natural that you chose to follow the command line of the Border Police and contribute The best of you … In the last few days he expressed his satisfaction with the role he had played and asked his commanders to continue to go to the officers’ course. Unfortunately, the terrible disaster cut down the dream. “The company commander writes:” You were a commander who knew how to take care of his subordinates. You were a commander whom your subordinates admired and liked, despite the tough policy – to educate the good way. Michael, you were a modest man, respectful of your commanders, obedient and motivated. “Michael’s memory was immortalized in pictures, notes and poems in the booklet” Michael – Words We Wrote to Your Memory “in which many family members and friends wrote their longing, expressed shock over his death, Michael writes: “… when I think of you / The sea reminds me of your face / When I imagine your laughter / The waves remind me of you. / The quiet wave – Your worried nature / The stormy wave – Like Michael the assistant / and the wave that you took – The broken wave / but what I can say / – only that I will never forget … “
