Born on Friday, May 16, 1975 in Haifa, the eldest of the four children of the family, Yossi attended the “Aliyah” elementary school, continued in “Ironi Aleph” high school and graduated from the high school in Haifa. At the beginning of August 1993 Yossi enlisted in the IDF. He has completed a recruitment coordinator course and served in this capacity in the Haifa District. After his mother died of a serious illness in 1991, Yossi became his father’s right-hand man, who worked outside the home most of the day. Yossi took part in everything he needed at home, both in caring for his young sisters and in housework. In these circumstances, he asked to move to a nearby house. His request was fulfilled and he was placed at the base of the Air Force Technical School in Haifa, where he served as a development and construction NCO who was responsible for development, landscaping, and maintenance at the base, while Yossi performed his duties in the best possible way and demonstrated investment and care beyond the norm. On Thursday, March 7, 1995, Yossi was killed while carrying out his duties in a car accident that occurred when he left his base. He was twenty years old when he died. He was laid to rest in the Haifa military cemetery. Survived by a father, a brother, Eran, and two sisters, Tova and Dana. After his death, Yossi was promoted to sergeant. The commander of the unit where Yossi served, wrote in a letter of condolence to the bereaved father: “We have enabled a particularly beloved and beloved son, Yossi, whose memory was as devoted and beloved to his commanders as the soldiers in the base. Gardening and gardening in the unit, did a wonderful job, which we did not know until he reached this position, while serving as an example to his friends with devotion, efficiency and excellence. Yossi was among the best in the unit, who had no need to visit him and make sure he did what he was told.
