Lousky (Hanitai), Aryeh (Lola)


Son of Rivka and Eliezer. He was born in Vilnius (Vilna) in 1919. In his hometown he attended elementary school and later went to study at the “Tushia” Hebrew Gymnasium. From his youth he was a member of the Hashomer Hatzair youth movement, showed great interest in what was going on in Eretz Israel, and the letters he wrote to his family living there were filled with longing, love and dedication to the country. In April 1935, he immigrated to Israel alone with the help of his relatives and went to study at the “Nordia” high school in Tel Aviv. He did not complete his studies at the Gymnasium, went to work to earn a living and not to bother his relatives. He completed his high school education at evening classes. After graduating, he moved to Ness Tziona and worked there in the grove of one of the farmers. During his studies, he joined the Haganah and joined the “Hapoel” organization, where he served as a guide and commander in the “Hapoel Battalions”. On the day of the aliyah to Hanita (21.3.1938), hundreds of recruits from all over the country helped to establish this settlement in the Western Upper Galilee. Afterward, he remained in the new settlement as deputy commander of the Hagana. On the 9th of Sivan 5638 (June 8, 1938), during a tour he was wounded by a homemade grenade that exploded in the bag of one of his subordinates and was brought to rest in the cemetery in Hanita, where he was immortalized in the books “Hanita.
