During World War II, at the age of 17, he accepted the order “Economy and Arms” and went to serve in the Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu in the Beit She’an Valley. Where he specialized in agriculture, practiced and was recruited as a police officer in the Jewish settlements. After serving for about two and a half years at Sde Eliyahu, he prepared for the exams and was admitted to the university, to the Agriculture Institute, but his studies did not last long. A few weeks later, in December 1947, he and his fellow students joined the War of Independence. During his service he moved from position to position, guarding the buildings of the national institutions in Jerusalem and training new recruits in Beit Hakerem. He also participated in the battles in Tzuba and Neve Ya’akov as a “Baran” machine gunner and excelled in his courage even during the most difficult moments of battle. Pinchas returned to the city and worked in Katamon, Talpiot, during the capture of Allenby and Deir Abu Tur. On May 13, 1948, the Hisham was stationed in the city and Pinchas was sent along with his friends to Ramat Gan for the defense of southern Jerusalem, where he fought in difficult battles, when the agriculture was passed from hand to hand, (24.5.1948), the day of his death in the battle, he fought at a position on the western border of the agriculture, and Pinchas was wounded by shrapnel and stone thrown by a cannon shell fired from the surroundings of the monastery.
