He worked seriously in photography, acquired a professional camera, worked as a photographer for events in the evenings, and hoped to be an independent professional in this field. In June, Yoni was prominent in social life, was loved and accepted by his friends, and was at the center of the preparations and production of the graduation party. Yoni joined the IDF at the end of September 1993. After basic training, he underwent various technical courses, and later moved to serve as a driver in the Air Force Equipment and Quartermaster Unit, Where he drove various vehicles throughout the service. On the day of the 12th of Adar 5756 (March 3, 1996), Yoni was killed when a bomb exploded in a bus on bus No. 18, near the central bus station in Jerusalem. He was twenty-one years old when he fell. His brother Kobi says: “After the four older brothers got married and left, we were very close, I and Yoni, the separation was more difficult than anything else, because on a lighter day I do not see Yoni, can not talk to him, and suddenly the house becomes empty … Waiting for him to come from the base, and life changed and became sad. ” Chief of Staff Amnon Lipkin-Shahak wrote to the family: “Yoni served as a driver in an air force base base in central Israel, and was described by his commanders as a professional, thorough and responsible soldier who fulfilled his duties to their full satisfaction. Was popular among his commanders and friends. Was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant after his death. “The unit commander added:” Yoni quickly became fond of all his acquaintances, and was very fond of his friends. Yoni was characterized by good spirit, devotion, honesty and loyalty, and his sudden fall is a painful blow to the whole unit. “The family received many condolences from acquaintances and strangers, who embody Yoni’s beautiful image:” That’s how we met Yoni. Tall, dark, smiling. During every semester he went into the neighborhood store, chatted, bought and lent to friends. Sometimes, when a lesson is canceled, he stays for soul-searching. … and so I will remember him, beautiful and young, and fresh, always dressed so beautifully, courteous and polite. “” From the first time I learned to know its beauty. A charming, mischievous child with a gorgeous smile and a true friend to all the children. I’m not exaggerating. That’s why I really loved him. Therefore, always, when I had to choose children for performances, I asked the teacher that Yoni would also participate. And I always enjoyed it in an extraordinary way. “Yoni’s family commemorated his donation to a synagogue.
