Levi, David

Son of Siman-Tov and Aliza. He was born on 30.6.1958 in Afula-Elite. Studied in a state-religious school in Bnei Brak. David was a child full of joy and joy, with a healthy sense of humor and loving life. He was known for his physical fitness and excelled in various sports games and in every competition he took part in, he took first place. He had many hobbies, especially painting. He wrote and painted charcoal with many figures, and with his great talent he perpetuated on paper many situations of life, expressing sadness and joy, an excitement of happiness and a degeneration of poverty. David was the son of a large family. He showed a loving attitude to his family, amused his brothers and sisters with his sharp humor and helped everyone as best he could. He was a socially accepted boy, quiet and pleasant, with his smile always on his face. As a teenager, he was a charming, tanned, tall man with an athletic build and green eyes. From his childhood, David dreamed about the day when he would be drafted into the IDF and serve in a paratroopers unit, and before he enlisted, he began to devote many hours to developing his physical abilities and his personal ability in arduous training. He was determined not to postpone the enlistment, and David said, “There are courageous soldiers in the GIs-May.” David was drafted in May 1976. He successfully passed all the tests and went on to basic paratroop training. The obstacles in love and smile, even when his hand was wrapped in a cast, served as an example for everyone: he successfully passed a parachuting course and an RPG course, but in an exercise that ends basic training and opens A new Lev later in the service was killed in the crash of the helicopter in the Jordan Valley on 23 May 1977. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem, leaving behind his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
