Levi, Danny


Son of Nurit and Shlomo. He was born on the 6th of Cheshvan 5713 (6.11.1953) in Kiryat Ata. Danny was the third child of a family of five. He was a sick child because of a congenital malfunction in his kidney function, and at the age of five there was no choice but to cut off one of the kidneys. When he reached the age of compulsory education, Danny was sent to elementary school in Kibbutz Lohamei Hagetaot. He later studied at the ORT school in Kiryat Haim. In spite of his physical limitations, he decided to enlist in the IDF and Hilal in April 1972. Danny worked as a cook and produced the will of his commanders. After 14 months of service, he was transferred to reserve duty in the Haganah, where he was a young man who worked hard and worked himself in electrical work, and after a while he became an electrical contractor.Then Danny was about to get a house and equip him for his marriage. On April 13, 1987, Danny was on reserve duty at the base in the Galilee and received a Passover break from his commando, and he left the camp in his car, and when he reached the Karmiel junction, the vehicle that drove him collided with him. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Kiryat Ata cemetery, leaving behind his parents, four brothers and a brother S – David, Delia, Deborah Doron. In a condolence letter to his family wrote to his commander: “Danny served in our unit trust and devotion impeccable. We, the soldiers and commanders of the unit, are stunned by his untimely death. “The Haftarot book was named after him in the Sha’ar Yerushalayim synagogue in his Kiryat Ata city.
