Lev, Jacob
Yaakov, son of Ilana and Emanuel, was born on July 8, 1940, in Belzec, Romania, and in 1951 immigrated to Israel and studied at the Metzudot Elementary School in Kiryat Shmona, at the Ein Karem High School in Yaakov was drafted into the Israel Defense Forces in mid-October 1958 and assigned to the Armored Corps, where he took part in various professional courses and was a tank gunner and was among the first to receive the Centurion tanks in the IDF, He served in reserve duty during the Six Day War in the northern sector of Sinai, as well as in the Strait of Gidi and the Mitla. Jacob returned to Kiryat Shmona and, in order to assist his parents in supporting the family, sent his hand first He was a postman, then worked hard in the cotton fields, until he completed teaching at a seminar and taught at a regional school in the Negev, and eventually left the teaching and joined IAI employees. In the Yom Kippur War, Yaakov fought in a tank in one of the units of the division, which halted the Syrian attack on the southern Golan Heights, and was attacked and killed on October 16 th. 1973), in the attack on Tel Antar in the enclave.
