Lempel, Nathan-Dov-Benjamin
Son of Mordechai and Dvora. He was born on March 20, 1939 in Olzov, Poland. At the outbreak of the Second World War, his family fled because of the Nazi nuisance and together with the other Jewish refugees sat in the plains of Russia, where they knew scarcity and cliff. At the end of the war they left the Russian borders, wandered in European camps for several years, and only after the establishment of the state did they immigrate to Israel. The son was arranged as part of Youth Aliyah at the educational institution of Yeshivat Chabad in Lod, where he stayed until the end of 1956. He always volunteered for the navy and joined the Gadna-Yam course in Haifa. To the commander of the course, how he left Limmud Torah, he answered: “There is nothing to study Torah, I always eat, the year I will miss until I am drafted after my release.” In November 1956, he was drafted into the IDF and made efforts to continue his studies during his service, and after the Sinai Campaign he decided to stay in the permanent army in Namco: “We need religious soldiers in the permanent army as well.” He fell during his duties on 26 Adar 5717 (29.3.1957) and was brought to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
