Kremerman, Shlomo


Son of Sima and Shaul, was born on August 31, 1927 in Afula, where he graduated from the elementary and high school of “Hamizrachi” (the first class), studied law for a year at the Law and Economics High School in Tel Aviv, He stopped his studies and devoted himself entirely to service in the Irgun underground, which he had been a member of since 1942, under the name “Sergeant Dov,” and reached the rank of platoon commander. He participated in many combat operations against the British, including the attack on the exhibition grounds in Tel Aviv in 1945, attacks on the central prison in Jerusalem, the Lod airport, two attacks on the army camp in Zrifin to confiscate weapons – all in 1946; An attack on Beit Hadar in 1947, and more. In the winter of 1948, with the outbreak of the War of Independence following the United Nations General Assembly resolution of 29 November 1947, dividing the country into two states, he participated with his people in the defense of the Shapira neighborhood and later in the Etzel battles to conquer the Manshiyeh neighborhood in northern Jaffa. Shlomo fell on April 29, 1948. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery at Nahalat Yitzhak.
