Kogan, Abraham
Avraham was born on October 1, 1936 in Poland, in the town of Makow. As the sealed book is the beginning of his life, one mystery and the secret of this man went down with him to the grave. From his conversation about him after him, details of his life before his arrival in Israel and his life in Israel were collected, and from it the characteristics that were discovered in Avraham are understood in his everyday life. From the conversation, we learn that before the friend immigrated to Israel he was in France, where he and the other members of the group learned that in one village near Marseilles there were children who were apparently gathered from monasteries (in those days they would look for monasteries and Christian homes to find Jewish children). His origin, like the other children, was the country of Poland – and they no longer knew, nor even their parents and their names. A child without a past was Abraham and even his name was given to him after World War II. A fire survivor was found in France and when he was brought to Israel; He then spent a short time in the “Aliyat Hanoar” youth camp in Karkur and was sent to the educational institution in Alonei Yitzhak. Only after the members arrived in Israel did he learn that Avraham was also in the same group who had heard of her presence in a villa near Marseilles. When Avraham came to Eretz Yisrael and came among other children, it was difficult to get him to talk – especially about his past; There is no way of knowing whether he did not know him, whether he was forgotten or not interested in talking about him. He also did not know his age exactly, as evidenced by a letter he found in which he asked to be examined by a medical examination to determine his age. He was small and thin and his body was undeveloped, though he was quite firm in the sports games, and he was attracted to him despite his weakness. He excelled in volleyball, he played basketball and soccer. In time his body weakened and he stopped playing. The reason for his weakness was unknown, so he was given multiple tests in various hospitals and after a week or two of treatments the pain returned, his sleep was wandering and he felt them in his back. Painful and lonely, without a relative and redeemer all over the world and in Israel. In the educational institution at Alonei-Yitzhak, he studied elementary and high school, but the principals of the institution recognized him as a depressed and disgruntled type who did not trust himself – and decided to adopt him. They bought him a watch and even gave him a birthday and since then he has been like all the other children. He liked to dance folk dances and folk dances. He joined the “Torchim” nucleus of “Hanoar Hazioni” and then established his kibbutz way and came to the farm of Kfar Glickson and was accepted as a member. Where he worked for several years and then worked in the kibbutz technical secretariat. Went to work in the Emek Hefer farms – and doubts how he will be absorbed in this framework. But he clung to his fingernails at work; It was not that he wanted to show that his power was with him – and those who worked with him were satisfied with his stubbornness and his desire to learn things and succeed. In his life he was not Simcha and yet he was always Simcha and shared himself in the joys of others. He used to laugh a lot, but on his laughing face he was saddened – and this is not understood by his grim life story. He was drafted into the IDF in October 1953 as part of the Nahal Brigade. On May 26, 1967, he fell in the course of his duties as a landmine exploded and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Kfar Glickson. In the book “Bimkomim”, which was published by the Union of the Kibbutzim and Kibbutzim, several pages are dedicated to his memory in the form of a talk about him
