Kerner, Reuven
Son of Pessia and Moshe. He was born in Romania on March 29, 1936. Reuven grew up and was educated in Romania, where he studied in elementary school and high school, and after completing his studies, Reuven went on to study law at the Faculty of Law. In May 1966, Reuven was drafted into the army. He completed basic training and was assigned to the Military Police Corps. Given his legal education, Reuven was sent to a criminal investigators course. He received the rank of corporal and was assigned to serve in the Jerusalem area, and his commanders wrote: “Reuven is a good researcher, an initiativeist, modest, honest and reliable. He devoted much of his time beyond regular working hours. “In 1969 Reuven joined the ranks of the permanent army, and in November 1972, Reuven underwent a road accident, while he suffered a 50% disability, but did not relinquish his role and returned to his unit. Reuven was transferred to the Maintenance Corps in 1979. He was sent to a counter-registration course at the end of which he was assigned to serve as head of the counting and loss squad, and in his new position, Reuven proved very capable. 1986) Reuven fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. Survived by a wife – Tina, and daughter – Sarah, brother – Shimon, and sister – Sylvia. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, the unit commander wrote: “Reuven stood out with dedication, responsibility and devotion to every mission. His family commemorated his memory at the “Shimon HaTzadik” synagogue in Jerusalem
