Son of Nina and Igor, was born on March 29, 1984 in the city of Orsha in Belorussia, a former brother of Dmitry. Andrei, named after his grandfather, was a wonderful child, who loved to listen to his mother’s stories and poems and knew them by heart. He was a clever and quick-paced child, who from the age of 3 had already read books himself. From a very young age Andrei was not indifferent to music. He was so fascinated by classical music that he could not move when he heard a classical tune. Andrei attended school in his hometown, was a good student and achieved good achievements in his studies. He loved reading very much, and when he returned from school he immediately took a book into his hands, reading and forgetting to eat … At the age of 10 Andrei began practicing karate, a sport that strengthened him physically and mentally. Andrei was a very responsible and committed fellow, and all he did in his life was out of great devotion. When he was 13, the family immigrated to Israel. After completing his studies at the Amal studio in Nahariya, Andrei continued to study at Midreshet HaGalil in Migdal HaEmek, where he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah. At the Midrasha, Andrei was educated to values ​​in the spirit of the Jewish tradition, in a family atmosphere and in warm and friendly relations between teachers and students. He studied at Midreshet HaGalil for five years, where he is remembered as a noble, gentle, honest and loyal man, full of joy and a wonderful sense of humor. At every opportunity he helped his friends, encouraged and strengthened them. He had a very close relationship with his younger brother, Dimitri Shona Dima. They were not only brothers, but also the closest friends. The two set up their own world, with rules, games, and secrets that only the two of them knew. Andrei gave Dima the rich knowledge he acquired in art and music. The family says: “When Andrei came home with that nice smile, it seemed like a fresh breeze was blowing or a sun was coming in and smiling at us …” Andrei joined the IDF in July 2003. He managed to serve in the IDF for about six months, Including two months in the DCO unit in the northern Gaza Strip. His commanders and friends said that Andrei had found his place in the army, served with devotion, could always be trusted, willing to help and support. His commander offered him an officer’s course. In the short time that he served, Andrei won the trust and love of his friends and commanders. Andrei was a straight and modest fellow, and he wanted to learn and move forward in life. On February 14, 2004, Corporal Andrei Kglass was killed in operational activity at the Erez checkpoint and he is twenty years old. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Nahariya. Survived by his parents and brother.
