Simon ben Boris and Isya was born on the 27th of Elul, September 9, 1950 in Kiev, Ukraine. His friends, Jews and non-Jews alike, treated him with great affection, because of his comfortable, relaxed nature, and mature judgment. In 1973, his mother immigrated to Israel, and in May 1974 Sonia followed. In May 1976, two years after his immigration to Israel, Sanya drafted into the Israel Defense Forces. . He stood out as a disciplined soldier, did everything he had to do without grumbling or arguing. Despite the differences in age between him and his colleagues, he knew how to find a common language with the other soldiers. He did not lose his temper even in the difficult moments that the training period sometimes takes.. About five weeks after his enlistment, on the 15th of Sivan 5736, June 13, 1976, Sonia fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He left behind a mother and brother.
