Kalman (light), Amiram


Son of-Miriam and Yehoshua was born on September 20, 1947. He studied at the Carmel High School and at the Alliance High School in Tel Aviv and continued his studies in the IDF Technical School The air and the sky, he loved marine activities, and at an early age he joined the “airport club” and engaged in gliding, and in his spare time he was a model of airplanes, and he knew the girl he was going to marry. After completing his military service, he served as an aircraft mechanic at the IAF base in the south. However, he did not settle for service on the ground and decided to take a pilot course. In November 1969 he was qualified as a pilot. Shortly after finishing the course, he married and wandered with his wife between the IAF bases where he served. Amiram trained in flying “Myster” and “Mirage” planes. He fought in the Yom Kippur War, rose to the rank of Major, as an interceptor pilot. His children were born in air force bases and filled his world in his spare time. He was a devoted husband and an exemplary father and traveled extensively in Israel with his family. Was sensitive to the needs of others, loyal to his friends and always willing to help them when they needed him. In 1976, Amiram joined the Israel Air Force as a pilot pilot, and when Amiram joined the course, they successfully completed and were appointed first officers in El Al, but due to layoffs at the company he returned to work at Israel Aerospace Industries as a consultant For the construction of the “Kfir” plane, and in July 1981 he was called up for reserve duty, and on the 8th of Tammuz 5741 (10.7.1981) he set out for an experimental flight off the Ashdod coast. While flying, he announced that the engine was bleeding. He abandoned the plane, and his friends saw him drop without the parachute opening, and without the seat of the escape. With all the heavy equipment plunged into the sea. He was searched for nothing and his body was not found. Amiram left behind a wife, son, daughter, brother and sister. This fallen hero is a “maklan” – a hero whose burial place is unknown.
