Kahane, Gad


Gad was born in Haifa on January 1, 1953. He studied at the “Ilanot” elementary school, continued at the Ironi High School on Mount Carmel and completed his studies at the Hebrew Reali School in Haifa, in the Realistic track in 1971, and he is a graduate of the BS. Gadi was an apprentice and a counselor in the Scouts and Gadna movement, and while he was studying at the Hebrew Reali School, he was very knowledgeable about his physical abilities, August 1971 and volunteered to serve in the “Shaked” unit. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Gadi joined his operational company, which fought on the southern front. On October 15, 1973, Gadi participated in a breakthrough in the area of ​​the Suez Canal, during which a missile hit his half-track and Gad was killed on the spot. Gad was brought to rest in the military cemetery in Haifa. He was 20 years old. After his fall, he was promoted to First Sergeant. I
