Son of Farcha and Salman. Born on January 5, 1981 in the Druze village of Beit Jann. A younger brother to Shahraban, Hiam, Siham, Firouz, Mehdi, Ramez, Remzia, and Majdi. Madhat grew up in a warm, supportive and loving family, and received the warmth and love of the extended family and all those around him. Medhat grew up and was educated in his village of Beit Jann, and throughout his studies he was an outstanding student. At the elementary school, he was socially and culturally prominent, and received great praise from his teachers and the principal of his school at the graduation ceremony. He continued to excel in middle school. His occupying personality liked him over his colleagues and led him to the student council. He completed his studies in the chemical-real-time high school as usual, with a full matriculation certificate. Medhat was a friendly, active boy who liked humor and humor. He was a member of a Druze dance company that Dvka performed and performed in various sectors around the country. Medhat had a warm and wide heart and loved to help those around him. Through the welfare office in his village he supported a weak population: assisted the elderly in painting and renovating their homes, and drove mentally disabled students to a club where they studied and even helped their teachers. Medhat worked for the peace, participated in the Gadna and was a “youth loyalist” in “Noar says no to drugs.” He devoted his free hours to computers, trips and watching Maccabi Haifa football matches, one of them. Before he enlisted in the IDF, he debated whether to apply for medical studies at the Technion in Haifa as part of the reserve or to enlist and postpone his studies at the end of his service. In the end, he chose to postpone his studies and enlisted in the IDF in July 1999. He wanted to continue the path of his father Salman, who served for 28 years in the Border Police, And was chosen to serve in the Joseph’s Tomb compound in Nablus. On the second day of Rosh Hashana 5761, at approximately 12:00, about 100 rioters and Palestinian policemen began attacking the Tomb of Joseph with stones, Molotov cocktails and gunfire . At 15:05, Madhat was critically wounded by a bullet. For about four hours he waited for the evacuation of IDF soldiers who did not arrive at 18:40 At the same time, Medhat took his last breath, and at 21:30 the body of Madhat was evacuated by the Palestinian security forces and transferred to the IDF. The family received the bitter news at approximately 21:00. Medhat Yosef was laid to rest on October 2, 2000, in the military cemetery in his village, Beit Jann, with thousands accompanying him on his last journey, when he was 20 years old and left behind his parents and eight brothers and sisters, “Which is composed of people who see the comrades’ comradeship and the IDF’s code of ethics as a supreme value.
