Jonah, Elijah


Eliahu, son of Flora and Naji, was born on November 6, 1953, in the village of Kadima. When he was three years old, he and his family moved to Bat Yam. In Bat Yam he studied at the “Givat HaTmarim” elementary school and completed his high school studies at the Ort vocational school in Jaffa, in the framework of frameworks. After two years of education, he was forced to give up his studies and go to work to help the family’s agriculture. Eli was a boy who loved life and loved all his acquaintances. He never complained that he was not allowed to study like any boy of his age, he loved to help his family and willingly accepted it. Eliahu was drafted into the IDF in early November 1971 and assigned to the Infantry Corps, where he underwent a course of mortar fire, a rifle training course, a infantry training course and a parachuting course. In the Yom Kippur War, Eliahu served against a rifleman on the southern front, but was refused medical treatment and continued to fight on the 17th of Tishrei 5734 (October 17, 1973).
