Daughter of Rachel and Ephraim Shai. Was born on October 21, 1965, in Moshav Ramot Meir, a sister to Eliezer and Sarit. Nancy’s birth was accompanied by great excitement, for she was the eldest daughter of her parents and the first granddaughter of the family. As a toddler, the family moved to Ashdod, where she first visited the kindergarten. Nancy was a pleasant, comfortable, friendly girl. Even then, it was possible to identify her as a talent for natural leadership and when she played with the children she was always the leader and in role-playing games preferred those of the teacher or the teacher. Until the sixth grade, Nancy visited the Meron elementary school. In this framework, too, her energy and joie de vivre were expressed – Nancy was an active student who preferred movement and action to a long sitting in her chair. In high school and high school, she studied at the “Makif B” school, in the technical drafting track. Nancy respected and respected her teachers, and achieved good results. Nancy was drafted into compulsory military service in late September 1983. She waited impatiently for the service period, and when the desired enlistment day finally arrived, she was not inclined to take on any role. She was particularly pleased with the placement, because the admission to the course necessitated another year of service in the army, a condition that was in keeping with her strong desire to contribute and be donated within the framework of the IDF. At the end of the course, Nancy was sent to serve at the Air Force base at Uda Despite the distance from her parents’ home, and the exhausting journeys out of the base, Nancy was pleased with her job. After two years she moved to serve at the base closer to her parents’ home, and except for the days of duty she could enjoy the family company every day. Nancy loved the life of the army, and chose to continue to serve in this framework against her, even after completing compulsory and permanent service. Until the day she fell she performed a variety of positions in the air force and the maintenance corps. In each unit where she served, Nancy was easily integrated, thanks to her cordial and comfortable temperament, the thoroughness and responsibility in which she did her work. In her last position, she served as the coordinator of the personal equipment field for recruits at the induction center, a challenging position in a complex and budgeted section, which she received with her many skills.Nancy successfully coped with the accelerated pace of work, subject to strict schedule and outstanding service delivery to the various units. “She always had a pleasant and comfortable atmosphere around her, every morning she would enter the unit with a smile spread across her face. Nancy performed her role in an efficient and professional way, aspiring to perfection in performing her duties with a show of honesty and skill and was a role model … “Nancy loved to dance folk dances, and in one of the dances she met her beloved father and future husband, Avi, in March 1990.
