Zivia’s youngest son and her employees. He was born on February 16, 1971 in the Sharon Hospital in Petah Tikva, to a family of six children. His parents immigrated to Israel from Yemen, his father in 1936 and his mother in 1949. Ami spent his childhood in kindergarten in Hod Hasharon and studied there in the lower grades. He continued his elementary studies at the Ponevezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. He completed his high school studies in a regional center for “Amal Dalet” youth workers in Petah Tikva. The educational institution combined studies and part-time work, and Ami worked at Bezeq. At the end of his studies in 1989 he was awarded a certificate of excellence from the General Federation of Hanoar Haoved Vehalomed, and on 23 February 1989, Ami was drafted into the IDF and served as a driver. He completed his regular service with honors. After his discharge from the IDF, Ami realized his dream of going abroad and traveled to the United States. He spent two years in Queens and worked, and when his brother Roni married, he returned to Israel for the wedding ceremony. Here he met Orly and in 1994 married her. At the beginning of their marriage, the two lived in Rosh Ha’ayin, and later moved to the settlement of Tapuah in Samaria. For a while, Ami served as a regular security coordinator in the settlement. He was very devoted to the job, and even opened his house to soldiers who lived in the settlement and provided them with all their needs. At Tapuach his five children were born: Dvir, Daniel, Michal, Doron and Tomer. The rabbi of the settlement of Tapuach, Rabbi Shmuel Cohen, said that Ami was a “modest, quiet, pleasant and smiling Jew, a family member who always knew how to take care of all her needs.” Ami’s functioning as the security coordinator in Tapuah aroused positive reactions and was therefore recommended for enlistment in the career army. Ami returned to the army, to the logistics corps, and was appointed deputy commander of the Samaria Brigade, and he was a smiling and joyous man who gave a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere to everyone around him. He was very well known and charmed everyone who came into contact with him, and he was not inclined to discover the hardships or crises he was subjected to so as not to worry his family, and he resolved to solve all the problems. Within it, and always preferred the wishes of others to his wishes and desires, and even helped financially to those who needed it. On 27 October 2002, Amihud Hasid fell in Ariel, and that morning Ami was in the gas station at the Ariel junction, which is a meeting place for many soldiers before their departure, to receive new soldiers to secure the settlements in the area. 30: A terrorist arrived carrying a suicide bomber and approached the soldiers and civilians who were in the area, and the soldiers attacked the terrorist, Major Tamir Masad and Lieutenant Matan Zagron, but the terrorist managed to detonate the explosive device before taking over. About him. The force of the explosion killed all three who had prevented a much heavier disaster. About 20 people were injured in the attack. Because of the great difficulty in identifying his body, Ami was a missing person. Only at 18:30 that evening was he identified with certainty, and representatives of the city officer arrived at the house of the family, which already had friends and neighbors. Ami was thirty-one years old when he fell. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Rosh Ha’ayin cemetery. He left a wife, five children, parents and five brothers and sisters. His commander eulogized him for his diligence, devotion, and endless dedication to the job. In a condolence letter to the bereaved family, the chief of staff, Lieutenant General Moshe Ya’alon, wrote: “Amihud served as a light car driver in the Samaria Regional Brigade of the Judea and Samaria Division of the Central Command. His commanders testify that he performed the tasks assigned to him in the best possible way and that he liked to help and support the soldiers of the platoonGod. Amihud was described as a man of joy, with a smile on his face at all times. He always had a good spirit around him and was loved and loved by his commanders and friends alike. At the event in which the demonstrator was killed in a heroic attempt to prevent the suicide bomber from carrying out his plot. “Amihud was killed in a suicide bombing at the Ariel junction in an attempt to prevent the attack,” said Col. Uzi Moskowitz, an officer in the Operations Branch of the Central Command: “When he ran to the site where the terrorist was identified, Amihud Hasid was a pillar of his department, and his subordinates and commanders knew that when assistance or assistance was needed, Amihud would immediately stand up, smiling broadly. In the same devotion with which he treated people in his life, so in his death, he attacked the terrorist in order to prevent harm to others. His father wrote: “My son Amihud, your father speaks even though I do not believe in your tragic death, your death caused solely by your being a Jew and your desire to protect your family and all the people of Israel.” Amihud, I have not forgotten and will not forget everything that we went through together. I will not forget the first time I visited you at the Ponevich yeshiva when you grabbed my hand and made a tour of the yeshiva. You showed me your bedroom and how your bed was orderly and then you led me to Mrs. Monk and told me how she cared and loved all the students , You were so proud of her: After her military service, she flew to the United States and made sure to keep in touch mainly in letters to your brother Roni, When you received the message from your brother Roni that he was going to get married, you surprised us all with the message that within 24 hours you would return to Israel to attend your brother’s wedding. After a while, you introduced us to Orly, now your wife, you were so proud of her and you decided to get married and settle in Israel, and we were all surprised by the good news and volunteered to help you with the wedding arrangements. Amihud, I just wanted you to know, just as you had such a wide heart and a place for every man and soldier (as all of your commanders testified) that you were so determined to help and love as well (whether in the unit or in your own “apple”). So in our hearts there will always be a place reserved for you and we will always remember your virtue and your smile for every person. As your commanders testified at the funeral ceremony, you were “always smiling with a joy of life.” At a festive ceremony that took place after Ami’s death, his family received a certificate of appreciation from the GOC Central Command for his bravery , His determination and dedication. In the month of Tevet, 2004, a monument erected at the gas station in Ariel was unveiled in memory of those killed in the two attacks that took place in the city. In addition, in memory of Ami, an alarm system was built for a holy ark in the synagogue in the city of Rosh Ha’ayin and the road prayer on a stone at the exit from the city of Ariel.
