Harash, Moshe (Musa)


Son of Rachel and Nissan, was born on the 28th of Iyar, 1929 in Rehovot. When he was six, his father died in a work accident, and his mother’s burden was imposed on his family. Moshe attended elementary school and when he was 13 he left his mother’s home and joined a youth group of Hashomer Hatzair in Kibbutz Ein Hashofet. He stayed there for two and a half years, and at the end of the training period, he enlisted in the junior high school in Ramat Hakovesh. After a period of service, he returned to his training in the Palmach in Ein Shemer, where the members prepared themselves for the building of their own kibbutz, Moshe was loved by the company, loved singing and touring the expanses, (He belonged to the “Intruders” Brigade in the “Harel” Brigade) to the Negev to guard the water line, and from there he was transferred to Givat Ada to train in sabotage. During Operation Nachshon, he was sent to the front of Jerusalem and participated in the battles of Nebi Samuel, the Radar, Beit Safafa, Deir Abu Tur, land mines around Jerusalem and participated in the break into the Old City. During the mining of the radar, Moshe fell in battle with the Arab Legion on May 31, 1948. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim.
