Harari (Bloomberg), Moshe Efraim
Son of Miriam and Yonah Dov. He was born on July 10, 1887, in the city of Dvinsk in Latvia, in 1905. In 1928 he immigrated to Eretz Israel and immediately turned to the stage. He published articles on theater and art in the newspapers “Ha’aretz” and “Davar” and in Yiddish newspapers in the United States. He was also active in the Jewish Music Society. The day before the 1929 riots in Jaffa, Moshe-Efraim separated from his wife, actress Tamar Robbins, who left for the European tour with Habima. On 19 Av, August 25, 1929. he traveled with a group of defenders to the Abu Kabir neighborhood to save Jewish workers in a resinous wine factory, whose lives were threatened by danger. Arabs surrounded his car. He waved to them with his handkerchief and said, “We are not hurting you”, but the rioters did not listen to his words and murdered him with his friends, and he was brought to rest in a mass grave of the martyrs of 1929 in the old cemetery in Tel Aviv. He left a wife.
