He belonged to HaPoel, excelled in athletic athletics and swimming, He was a lover of the nature of the country, and he loved to go on tours in the corners of the desert so far that he knew every trail and mountain and valley – and even the expanses of the desert He liked to guide the “Scouts” trips and to accompany them and became famous for his activities with the students at “Ash Layla” In October 1964 he was drafted into the IDF and volunteered for the air force. For a short time, he became a sports instructor for flying birds and passed on some of his customs to the IDF, and his approach was mature and correct for his guidance. His disciples loved him for his guidance and his commanders loved him, for he was able to fulfill any task required of him. He had always cared for his younger brother, reassured his family, and was honest about his appearance, and even in the IDF he would have enjoyed a forgiving laugh even from his hard-line commanders. In his military service he reached the rank of lieutenant. But on the 14th of Adar 5729 (March 14, 1969) he fell while carrying out his duties. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul.
