Hadid, Khalil


Son of Bidea and Yosef, was born on 10.3.1955 in Daliyat al-Carmel. He attended the Kuftan elementary school in the village, and after eight years of schooling went to work to help his parents support his ten brothers and sisters. Khalil studied automotive mechanics at the Compressors Garage in the Haifa Bay and worked in the municipal garage. After a short time he was hired at the “Gibor” factory in Herzliya and worked there for three years, but the distance from the family made it difficult for him to return to work in Haifa. Khalil began working for the Electric Company and enjoyed his work very much. When he reached the time of his enlistment, he did not receive a draft order. He handled the matter for three years and Hilal when he was 21, married and the father of a daughter. In the course of his service he was born a son, and in order to make things easier for him, the IDF decided to release him a year before the end of the service, and he began working at the Sabrina factory in Daliyat al-Carmel as a knitting machine operator. He served as a driver of the General Security Service unit in Tire and found his death on November 4, 1983, when a car bomb was injected into the government building in Tire and exploded in it He was buried at the cemetery in Isfiya, 28 years old when he died, and was followed by a wife and three children, parents, brothers and sisters Hadid was a young, smiling and very friendly young man who played soccer in the village community center, was a fan of the local Hapoel team and was involved in every social activity in the community. He had many friends, some loyal and very close to him, who used to accompany him to work every day in the factory. He used to help anyone, and was a loyal and dedicated son to his family and the state. In this spirit he also tried to educate his children. His commander noted that “he was an excellent soldier and an exemplary friend, his friends and commanders admired and loved him”
