Hacmon Yosef (“Yossi”, “Yoske”)


Son of Yitzhak and Gina. He was born on March 30, 1935 in Tripoli, Libya. The family immigrated to Israel in 1949, after Yosef completed an elementary school abroad and was absorbed into a home for immigrants, where they sat for four months; They then moved to Moshav Hatzav, near Gedera. Where he helped his father in the farm for five years. He was drafted into the IDF in February 1954 and served in the Givati ​​Brigade, where he participated in the Sinai Campaign, and after completing his army service, he was trained in the field of military training and was hired by Solel Boneh. After years he took a course for the secretariat of the Histadrut Insurance Fund but did not finish it, and occasionally he went to reserve duty and in the Six Day War he was in the same framework, and on the third day of the battles, he was 28 Iyar 5727 (June 7, 1967), when the unit in which Yosef served as a paramedic cleansed the city of El Arish. One of our men was lying in the courtyard under the enemy’s fire from a few meters, and Yosef, who was attached to the force, burst into the yard, knowing that his life was in danger, and he tried to take care of the wounded man and rescue him. Who was buried at the military cemetery for emergencies in Bari and was later transferred to the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem after being awarded a commendation by the GOC Southern Command for courage and devotion On the mission. His memory was raised in “Yesodot,” the organ of the workers’ union, and in the booklet “The Brigade in the Six Day War.”
