Guetta, Daniel (‘Danny’)
Son of Meir and Esther. He was born in Tunisia in 1971. In 1971, he immigrated to Israel with his family, and they settled in Ramat Hasharon, where he completed four years of schooling in the third state elementary school, and then moved to school He graduated from the Oranim High School in Ramat Hasharon, where he completed his studies, and studied art at the Rotberg Professional School in Ramat Hasharon. Worked for about half a year in a scientific technology factory and later in the Ministry of Engineering, as he sketched. From his youth, Danny was a member of the Scouts movement and took part in various activities in the movement. At school, he engaged in social activities and participated in organizing various social events. At home Danny was a loving son and devoted to his parents and his family, and he did a great deal to promote the home and its surroundings. He cultivated a magnificent garden and a living fence around the house, and paved the entrance to the house with special stones. He had good hands and was good at his work. He always repaired his motorcycle himself and made various repairs at his parents’ home. Danny was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of May 1975, but at first he wanted to volunteer for a combat unit, but due to a slight defect in vision his request was rejected and he was placed in a general service. On July 6, 1977, Dani fell during his service. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Kiryat Shaul. Survived by his parents, brother and sister. In a letter of condolence to the bereaved family, his commander wrote: “Danny was killed, only twenty years old, and we learned to recognize him as a friend and a loyal, joyful, proud and beloved friend of his many comrades in the unit. To the full satisfaction of his commanders, his commanders and his comrades will carry his beloved memory in their hearts. “
