Greenberg, Nimrod


Nimrod, son of Ruth and Moshe, was born on October 1, 1954 in Kibbutz Zikim. Nimrod was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of the war. November 1972 and volunteered for an aviation course, but was unable to finish the course and was transferred to a corps company The engineering of the paratroopers, where he completed a palasim course and a parachuting course. He was a dedicated and disciplined soldier with willpower, perseverance and stubbornness. By nature he was a loyal friend and was always willing to help a friend with a hard training and a difficult journey or to help him learn and understand difficult study material. In the Yom Kippur War, Nimrod served in an engineering corps unit in the Sinai and participated in the battles of containment and infiltration against the Egyptians. On October 18, 1973, he was hit and killed while crossing the bridge on the Suez Canal. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery at Kibbutz Zikim, followed by his parents and sister. After his fall, he was promoted to corporal.
