Goldman, Avner

Avner, son of Erica and Ovadiah Goldman, was born in 1962, in Petah Tikva. In May 1981, Avner enlisted in the army and was accepted to the 100th Air Force Course at Hatzerim Air Force Base. In March 1983, he successfully completed his pilot course and was assigned to the Yasur Squadron, where he was trained as a pilot and acquired experience. Even after he crossed the age of reserve duty, he continued to serve as a reservist. In 1985, Avner married Orit and they built their home in Modi’in. On the 15th of Av (26.7.2010), he fell in a helicopter crash during an operational activity in the mountains of Romania. He was brought to rest in the military section of the Modi’in cemetery. He left behind his wife and four children, his parents and three brothers.
