Goldin, Dov


Son of Avraham Isaac. He was born in 1904 in Dvinsk, Latvia, and when he was a child his mother died and he grew up on a stepmother and grandmother, first studying in the Hebrew revised room, also known as the Zionist Room, The “Tehiya” – the youth organization that studied in his city – and there he drew his first knowledge of Zionism and the Land of Israel, and stood out among the activists: Between 1923 and 1925, when the “Hechalutz” movement in Latvia developed, Burka entered its ranks. In 1925, after graduating from the Reali School, he went to Germany to continue his studies, but after months of longing for his friends and for his activities In 1927 he was drafted into the Latvian army for 15 months and completed his army service with honors and after his discharge from the army he became involved in public activities and established a training kibbutz in his city. And joined Kibbutz Shefayim, and was always full of life, vigor and initiative, and in the days of the bloody riots that opened in 1936, he was one of the Haganah activists in the area. On the 18 th of September 1938, he and his friends, the guards, went out for a tour near the farm. Not far from the sides of the truck, the truck mounted on a mine laid by the Arab gangs. From the force of the explosion, the truck overturned and caught fire. Four guards were killed, and Dov was among them. He was laid to rest beside the eucalyptus grove in the seabed in a mass grave with the three friends who fell with him. One of his friends wrote things in his memory in Davar; And was also mentioned in the newspaper Haaretz and in the newsletter of Kibbutz Shefayim.
