George, Moshe (Moshiko)

George, Moshe (Moshiko)

Son of Pinchas and Aliza. He was born on November 13, 1957 in Tel Aviv. He began studying at the Ohel elementary school in Tel Aviv and continued to study for a while in the high-school Shahav High School. Moshiko was a good and diligent student, loved by his teachers and fellow students. The most prominent line in his character was laughter and humor. He was full of jokes, and often he could save a dying party and bring it back to life with stories and jokes. “His friends and neighbors liked him for his good behavior … He was always the first to try to help them in all kinds of things,” says his friend Shlomo Taubi, “who loved life, and when he was with his friends he always liked to tell them funny jokes so that the guys would have fun , So we loved to spend time with him. ” Moshe was very attached to his friends and when something happened to one of them, he would visit him in the hospital and bring a laugh to the patient’s lips. Moshiko embodied in his behavior toward his parents the mitzvah of honoring parents and helping them as best they could. When he stopped studying, he began to work in a diamond polishing plant, and he gave his salary to his parents to ease their situation. At work he was absorbed very quickly and was a loyal, dedicated and honest worker. “We all loved him and we did everything to help him get absorbed in the new profession,” says Gideon Rachmanov, a member of the Labor Party, who did everything to learn the work as quickly as possible and to help him maintain his family. Moshiko traveled extensively with his older brother Yehuda and his sister-in-law, and was very attached to the family. He also worked in sports, was a member of the technical club in the Hatikva neighborhood and was a ‘burnt’ fan of the Bnei Yehuda group. Moshe was drafted into the IDF at the beginning of November 1975, and although he was a member of the Negba nucleus, he was assigned to the Armored Corps, and after completing basic training he was trained as a cook’s assistant and his commanders were satisfied with his behavior and his friends in the army. 5776 (July 25, 1976) Moshe fell during his service, was brought to eternal rest in the military cemetery in Holon and left behind his parents and four brothers.
