Gabbai (Shmuel), Shabtai

Son of Meir and fragrant. He was born in Iraq in 1928. He studied in “Yeshivah” and immigrated to Israel in 1951. He made his living as a carpenter and was drafted into the IDF. Even on the eve of the Six-Day War, called to reserve duty, and on the first day of the battles, he was 26 Iyar 5727 (5.6.1967), fell in battle in Old Jerusalem. He left a wife and six children. Was laid to rest in the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem. His memory was raised in “Yesodot”, the journal of the construction workers union.
