Frishberg, Pinchas (Fini)
Pinchas (Fini), son of Miriam and Aharon, was born on February 27, 1942 in Kibbutz Kiryat Anavim. As a child he was alert and kind, with big intelligent eyes and a shy smile. He graduated from elementary school until ninth grade and was known as a seductive, diligent and quiet boy who did not like to stand out. He used to listen quietly to the opinions of others, and when he answered and expressed his opinion his words sounded very appreciative. He had an in-depth analysis ability, a deep sense of identification with the land he loved, and as a boy, the secretariat of the kibbutz decided to send him to the field of agriculture. He studied for two years in Kfar Hayarok and completed high school at the Ruppin Midrasha. Pinchas was drafted into the IDF in the middle of August 1960. After completing his basic training, he was placed in a Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit, underwent a parachuting course and then completed a platoon commander’s course at the Parachuting School. He served as a paratrooper commander and in spring 1962 he was trained as a sabotage operator. At the end of December 1963, Pini was released from regular service and returned to his farm. After returning to the farm, he worked for three years in the cowshed, and then moved to the field. He was sent to the course of industry coordinators, followed by a year in the carrot group in his field of expertise. Returning to Kiryat Anavim, he continued his work with his good friend Ami-Yael. The two became one of the best teams in the area. Ami-Yael was a lecturer and Pini helped him with data, facts and dates. Pini was known as a man of order, who knew where everything was and what was agreed upon in every matter. In recognition of the properties of the two, the fields of Kiryat Anavim were chosen in recent years as observation points, tests and tests of problems in the field of foliage. The precise and dedicated implementation of all the actions made it easier to implement them quickly in the area’s flora. In the Six Day War, Pini participated in battles with his commando unit in his reserve service. He fought in the battles to conquer Jerusalem and Jericho and the Golan Heights battles. The brigade headquarters that occupied the capital gave Pini and the other fighters who participated in the battle a gift as a souvenir in recognition of the fighting spirit and their dedication to battle. Pini was active in the young company in the agriculture and in the cultural committee. He organized wedding parties and wedding parties of friends. Every holiday or event he would appear and read or sing Simcha rhymes that he wrote himself. For every occasion of joy he had a funny song, and his friend Drora used to write rhymes. One of his letters ended: “… to end the meeting that was yesterday / I had a desire to kiss you without asking / but I did not do that either, so what to do / because I was afraid that after that you would no longer want to see.” The couple married in 1971 and in May 1972 their firstborn was born Oren, and in July 1973 the son Ofir was born. When the Yom Kippur War broke out, Pini was recruited with his comrades to the Sayeret and sent to the southern front. His unit participated in the bitter battles that preceded the crossing of the Suez Canal and was entrusted with securing the leaving of the roller bridge. In the battles of the “Chinese Farm” on the night of the 16th of Tishrei 5740 (16.10.1973), a force from the Patrol was assigned a task to break into the “Tartar-Lexicon” Junction and purify it from west to east. He was brought to rest in the Kiryat Anavim cemetery, leaving behind a wife and two sons, a mother, a sister, and a brother, who was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant. Shamir on the two-year anniversary of his fall: “Two years have passed and we still refuse to believe that he will not walk among us again, and that he will no longer proudly wave his children to El Al . We still see the shy smile that does not leave his face every hour of satisfaction and remember him as a dedicated husband, a proud father and a faithful son. And all of this – as a hero without fear. But this time his heroism did not stand up and he turnedAs a hero in the most difficult and cruel battle our generation has ever known. “
