Frenkel, Yosef (“Yossi”)


Son of Zelig and Rebecca. Was born on January 6, 1956, in Hadera to his parents, residents of Moshav Kfar Hogla in Emek Hefer. He attended elementary school in Kfar Vitkin. He studied at the Ruppin Regional High School in Emek Hefer for two years. Afterward, he moved to the “Onim” pre-military school in Kfar Saba, with the aim of electronics. He trained in his profession as an electron in the Air Force Technical School. Yossi was a handsome boy and when he grew up he was a handsome, tall guy with blue eyes and blond hair. All his fans loved him. For several years he was the only one of his age in Moshav Hogla. During the time of the kindergarten, a single traveler would go to the kindergarten in Kfar Vitkin every day and return alone in the late afternoon. Adapting to the children’s society was difficult for him, and yet he overcame these difficulties and connected with other children his age in the neighboring village. During the elementary school period, he began to create a group of his peers from the school, and together with them, they held an Arab village in his village, and took the village club to them, where they spent much of their free time. He continued during high school and when he moved to the “Onim” institution in Kfar Saba, he first encountered the problems of the Second Land of Israel and began to be active in the new framework as a leader and a guide. At that time he would bring his new friends from the Mossad to the village and even recruit them for work in the farm. Yossi did wonders in doing manual labor. He built a stereo phonograph with his own hands as a wedding present to his brother. He was a sports fan and loved to spend his free time fishing in the village water reservoir. He was the best shooter in the Gadna, and during his free time he taught the young people in the village about social matters, and was always ready to turn to the needy, Yossi was connected to the farm and the farm. On 17 March 1974, and served as an electronic officer in a liaison unit, which was connected to the Armored Corps. He did basic training in the Air Force Technical School, where he completed an electronics course. The commander of the family unit wrote about the period of his service: “Yossi did his job faithfully, showed a strong desire to learn and to progress, he had a work ethic and exemplary soldiers.” Yossi fell in the line of duty – on 27 May 1974 and is 18 years old. He was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in his village, Kfar Hogla. Survived by his parents and brother. His family commemorated his memory by publishing a memorial book in his name “Yossi” in the book. The poems were printed by his elder brother, and included memoirs of his friends and teachers, as well as letters of condolence received by his family. Among the other notes, she writes in Yossi’s mother’s book: “The Yaffa and Yaffa Joseph, who can not see the yoke, the greatest burden has been done to you, you have been deprived of your life at the beginning of your path! “Your hand was always laughing and cheerful, very few people were aware of Yossi’s pain and confusion …”
