Frank, David


Son of Adelaide and Moshe. He was born on July 4, 1918, in the village of Tingen near Westerburg, Germany. His father was a wealthy merchant and ran a traditional house. He was a volunteer in the affairs of the Jewish community, such as Secret Charity. He used to blow the shofar on the High Holy Days, was an activist in the Hevra Kadisha, and made sure that the wine was kosher from the vines in his vineyard. Every passerby would be invited to dine at the family table, especially on Saturdays and holidays. After Hitler’s rise to power, his father was forced to flee and emigrate to Belgium. Soon his wife and daughter Sophia joined him. Upon the capture of Belgium, the father and his daughter were transferred to Auschwitz and were killed in the gas chambers. The mother, who found a hiding place in Brussels, was also discovered, executed and buried in Brussels. The eldest brother immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1936, and his younger uncle immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1937. He joined the Avraham group near Kfar Pines and joined the ranks of the Haganah. A member of the Abraham group, to Givat Ada, to work in the farmers’ farms, and David was hired to work in the drink factory of the Krupik family. On 24 Sivan, 23.6.1938, went with Yitzhak, a member of the Krupik family and cousin 4 year old Yitzhak David Auerbach, to work in the field, to bring home a wagon full of hay. It was discovered that the young men and the mules were kidnapped, and only two years later their bodies were found in a rock-hewn pit in the Jenin Sub-District. They were buried in the cemetery in Givat Ada on March 29, 1940. He left his parents, sister and brother and is mentioned in the book, Givat Ada.
