Tuvia grew up in Petah Tikva and began his studies at the Ein Ganim Elementary School, which continues at Brenner High School and completed his high school in Amal B. Tuvia had been an outstanding writing talent since childhood. He sent his hand in writing poems, stories and plays, and in everything he wrote, his sensitivity and wisdom were evident. He was also involved in what was going on in the country and one of his hobbies was to send letters to ministers and prime ministers. His estate contained letters of reply he received and signatures, which he proudly preserved, by prominent figures such as Yitzhak Rabin, Levi Eshkol, Ben-Gurion and others. Tuvia was active and sporting and liked playing football and watching games. In his youth he was a member of Hapoel Petah Tikva. As an adult, and after moving to Haifa, he became an avid supporter of the Maccabi Haifa team. He caught up with his love of his children and together they came to the fields and watched with great enthusiasm the team’s games. His attraction and intense love for the sea led him naturally to serve in the navy. Later, he wrote to his nephew, who was about to be drafted: “The day of enlistment is another station in life … To give, to give, it is a compass through us … Keep the world a child, because we have no choice.
