Fishbaum, Eliezer-Shlomo


The only son of son of-Zion and Feiga. He was born on June 10, 1947 in Szczecin, Poland. In 1950 he arrived in Israel with his parents and settled in the Old City of Acre. The family was a survivor of the Holocaust, after the parents had three children. While still in kindergarten, Eliezer showed talent in painting, acting, and other crafts. He studied at the Weizmann elementary school in Acre and successfully completed it with a recommendation for Stefandia. He then continued his high school studies at the municipal high school and became the head of the student committee there. When the youth orchestra was established in Acre, he was among the first to join it and for eight years he played it successfully. He would copy notes for the orchestra and invest day and night in it. He also participated in the high school brochures and in the writing of essays and on behalf of the Israel Police, he won the first prize for his book “Warnings on the Road”. Eliezer volunteered for all the activities involved in guiding retarded youth and children. He successfully passed the matriculation exams while working hard at the camp. He was a contributor to quizzes and contests in all the territories, and his knowledge of him earned him many prizes. His parents’ economic situation was difficult and in order to assist them, he concentrated a loyal circle of students around him, and his tuition helped his parents. In September 1965, Eliezer was drafted into the IDF and after training he was summoned to his commanders who announced that they had accepted his request to be part of the Armored Corps. Soon he was sent to a tank commanders course and successfully completed it. During the Six-Day War, he fought in Sinai as a symbol of the Armored Corps, but his ambition was to become an education officer, which would enable him to continue his studies. For this purpose he successfully tested various tests. The war, however, overshadowed his father, who was proud of his talented son; She also disrupted the plans of the son who fell in the performance of his duties in the Golan Heights on July 17, 1967. He was laid to rest in the military cemetery in Nahariya, in the book “In Memory of the Saints of Acre” Acre Municipality, was recalled.
