Son of Fruma and Shlomo, was born on February 13, 1928 in Afula. When he was eight, his parents moved to Kiryat Motzkin, near Haifa, where he attended elementary school. He became involved in youth movements, first in Maccabi and later in the Mahanot Ha’olim movement, where he served as a counselor, went to Yachur training and joined the ranks of the Palmach, After the outbreak of the War of Independence, he was appointed commander of a platoon, and his division was sent to the hills of Jerusalem, where he participated in many activities in the mountains and Arab villages. At the end of April 1948, the “Yevusi” operation was carried out in the Jerusalem area, intended to create a territorial contiguity within the city and between Jerusalem and the communities in the north. The “Harel” brigade to Jerusalem and on the night of April 22-23, 1948, its forces attacked Shuafat, Beit Iksa and Nebi Samuel, and the attack began at dawn, and the force was forced to withdraw. He knew that this was a very difficult operation and before leaving he told his friend, but he did not flinch until the last minute, and he was the commander of the platoon that attacked and retreated to cover it. So as not to delay them in their withdrawal. Apparently there he himself ended his life with a grenade so that he would not fall into the hands of the enemy, because his body was brought to the base, smashed by a grenade. He was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Kiryat Anavim. After his death he was promoted to lieutenant.
