Feig, Avraham-Haim


Son of Sarah and Shlomo, was born on 11.4.1924 in the city of Sighet, Romania, where he studied at the “cheder” and the Jewish school in the city of Timisoara, then a Zionist center in Transylvania, He was one of the founders of the kibbutz in his city, and in the Diaspora he studied Hebrew and was trained in the work of his father’s father, and during the Second World War he was sent to a labor camp and after the Russian conquest in 1946 he succeeded in leaving the Diaspora. Upon his arrival, he joined the youth group of Hapoel Hamizrachi in Haifa and was a devoted member of the group, and he worked and earned a salary while still continuing his studies in Hebrew, Butt Culture National Committee. At the outbreak of the War of Independence was an early report to the fray and served in the company of religious division “Alexander.” Abraham Haim fell on Wednesday Iyar (05/13/1948) among Arab conquest of Kfar Saba. After the assault, his body remained in the hands of the Arabs, but was later brought to rest in the Nahalat Yitzhak Military Cemetery. His parents, who learned of their son’s death only 11 months later, immigrated to Israel to bury their son.
