Eugene, Meir


Born in 1930 in the Shivat Tzion neighborhood near Rishon Letzion, he grew up in a difficult life, and his parents had difficulty getting regular studies and at a young age he had to go to work. A member of Hanoar Haoved, he was not a member of Hanoar Haoved, but was not enlisted immediately after the War of Independence, after the UN General Assembly decided on 29 November 1947 to divide the country into two states. Even his strong desire to give a hand to liberate the homeland, but when his friends fell, he could no longer stand by and joined the army in the month of Nissan 5708. He served in the ” Golani “and fought in the Galilee, participated in many battles out of devotion and exemplary discipline and acquired in his qualities the hearts of his friends Meir took part in all the battles for the liberation of the Galilee, (11.7.1948) from a bullet that hit Barkat while standing next to the settlement of Sejera. He was buried in Kfar Tavor. On the 19th of Tammuz 5710 (22.6.1950) he was put to rest at the Nachlat Yitzhak military cemetery.
