Dubinsky, Shalom (Shlomke)


Shalom (Shlomke), son of Ilana (Yenta) and Zerach Dushinksy, was born on 18.10.1928 in Tel Aviv and studied at the Tachkemoni School. When he was 17, he completed a course for naval instructors and served as a counselor at Elitzur. After the UN General Assembly Resolution on the partition of the country, Shalom retired from his post and served in the Givati ​​Brigade, although he could have been released as someone who was involved in the war effort. Shalom took part in activities around Tel Aviv – in Hatikva, Abu Kabir, Jabalya, Tel Haim and the Shapira neighborhood. In Sharona he served as a guide. As a commander and guide Shalom was sent by air to Kfar Etzion with the religious company, where he was attached to the Palmach and was appointed commander of the monastery. Shalom fought heroically until his last breath. He fell in the fall of Kfar Etzion, on the 4th of Iyar 5708 (13.5.1948). On the 25th of Cheshvan 5710 (17.11.1949) he was laid to rest at the military cemetery on Mount Herzl in Jerusalem.
