Dodian, Peretz

Peretz, son of Tova and Haviv of blessed memory, was born in 1941. When he was about six years old, he began studying in an elementary school in his hometown, and in 1950, when he was about nine, his family immigrated to Israel and settled in Tel- Aviv, and Peretz was forced to complete his basic education at the “Onim” institution in Kfar Sava, where he was a keen and loving child. He learned relatively easily the new language and was well integrated into his studies in the classroom, and at the end of the first year of his studies he moved to Kibbutz Ramat Yochanan. He loved the closeness to the land and nature and participated in all the festivities that the kibbutz members celebrated with their children: Peretz was a quiet and pleasant boy who never quarreled and was not involved in quarrels. That Peretz was loved by many of the kibbutzniks, and with some of them he developed a Yaffa and cordial relationship and maintained it for many years, even after leaving the kibbutz, because they liked him so much and allowed him to drive tractors. Tractors and became a real “professional”. The kibbutz also enabled him to develop his hobby – radio amateur and he built his own handsets different wireless devices. For hours on end he would sit by the various instruments and with endless patience dismantled and repaired various radios that came into his hands. Peretz also loved soccer. He regularly participated in games played in the agriculture and was a good player and a fair athlete. In 1957 he returned to Tel Aviv and completed his studies at Montefiore High School. In the same year he successfully passed the Ministry of Education and Culture’s preliminary examinations. Peretz was drafted into the IDF at the end of August 1958 and was assigned to the Signal Corps, and after completing his basic training, he was trained and trained as a liaison officer. And his commanders praised him for his diligence and loyalty, and was sent to courses that earned him a higher professional classification, and was promoted to the rank of sergeant.In the Yom Kippur War, Peretz participated in the battles in the Sinai and later took part in the battles to break into the West Bank Of the Suez Canal, on the 29th of Tishrei, 5734 25.10.1973) Peretz fell in the line of duty when he was brought to rest in the cemetery in Kiryat Shaul, leaving behind a wife and two sons, a mother and a brother.
