Der (Perlmutter), Shlomo


Son of Rivka and Avraham Perlmutter. Shlomo was born in Poland on January 12, 1925. Was the middle of the five children in his merchant father’s house. During the Second World War, when the Jews in the town of Jabe Wola, near Lublin, shouted in Polish: “The Jews are out to the town square, to report immediately to the ranks of the town, , Adults, children and infants, among them Shlomo. The German eyes saw him and he was taken out of the line with other strong and strong men and brought to the Russian border, to a closed camp, to work on digging anti-tank trenches. After a while, Shlomo fled to Lublin and from there to his parents’ home. And indeed when he arrived, he still found his family. When the Jews were again asked to report to the square, he decided to flee, so he wandered among the villages and received food from the Polish peasants, whom they considered Polish because of his appearance. One day he met his sister Sarah, who advised him to go to Germany and pretend to be Polish. Thus he came to Bavaria named Joseph Kulik, and since German was a regular language he became a translator and mediator between the Poles and the Germans. He was evaluated by the Germans as “Mr. Kulik”, and the time passed when Shlomo found his respected place, after many suspicions, among the Polish group with whom he worked, and his Lev was full of longing for his family and his former life. After the war ended, the Americans wanted to repay Shlomo for the aid and take him to America, but he refused and wanted to see what happened to his family, and his parents and two of his sisters were executed. He served in the IDF during his service in the army and during his service with Akko he moved to Acre, first in the eastern neighborhoods, and then moved to Nechama and his two daughters, Rivka and Chaya. Where the family lived throughout the years, when Shlomo continued to serve in the Acre police, to advance in his police position and to raise his family to glory. During his service, he changed his surname to Dar. On the 28th of Cheshvan 5747 (20.11.1976), Shlomo Shlomo fell during his service. The day before yesterday, on Friday night, when he was head of the road accidents department, he was called upon to check a breach in the fence. A driver driving at a crazy speed in the main street of Acre hit the police van in which Shlomo drove and threw him out of the car. Shlomo immediately lost consciousness. He was taken to the hospital in Nahariya where he made every effort to save his life, but when all possibilities were resolved, it was decided to transfer him to Rambam Hospital in Haifa. After a day-long struggle, his soul was taken away. Shlomo was fifty-one years old when he fell. He was buried in the Haifa cemetery. He left a wife and two daughters.
