David, Erez Tal


Ben Ali and Nuri. Born on 28.3.1976 in Or Akiva, the eldest son of a family of three sons. Erez was an active, playful and cheerful child, always busy with the many childhood games. He attended the “Rothschild” elementary school in Or Akiva, the “Sharett” junior high school, and the “Katznelson” high school in Kfar Sava, and was an outstanding student with high motivation and ability. When he was thirteen, the family moved to Caesarea. Erez acquired new friends and continued to maintain close and warm ties with his many friends in Or Akiva. When he was fourteen, Erez asked to move to the Steinberg boarding school in Kfar Sava. He chose this educational framework because of the positive, social and pleasant atmosphere that characterized it. Erez was an alert and playful boy and at the same time smart and thoughtful. Erez loved social activity and was always at the center. A prominent and leading figure, a dominant young man, a conquering personality, with great personal charm. A fine young man, whose joy and love of life always appeared on his face. He liked to dance and he could enjoy life. In leisure he loved and painted well – landscape paintings, miniature figures and many other subjects. At the beginning of August 1994, Erez was drafted into the IDF’s Golani Brigade and was assigned to the “Gidon” Brigade from the beginning of his career in the army, was happy with his appointment, completed his long and arduous basic training course, Put and choose to go to the infantry commander course. At the end of the course, he received sergeant rank and insisted on going to serve in the track company, which was then in Lebanon, and not at the brigade training base. According to his commanders, Erez undertook every mission seriously and responsibly, yet he was full of joy and always optimistic. Even during the hard training period, the smile was on his face. Always helped and contributed “was always in the right place at the right time”, “invests the soul,” according to his friends. One of his commanders illuminated his personality, as he discovered during his service: “A person with amazing character and beauty, with lofty qualities and lofty values.” Erez was all the pride of a unit, and on his vacations he was filled with fascinating stories about the service and the satisfaction and pleasure he felt. He was aware of the many dangers, but neither fear nor fear and always reassured his family. Erez was a dedicated commander and made sure to mention that he was first a member of his soldiers and only then, their commander. From his youth, and throughout the army, Erez was in a friendly and friendly relationship with his girlfriend, Adi. On March 10, 1996, Erez fell in combat in Lebanon. He was twenty years old when he fell. Erez was injured when the convoy on which he commanded boarded a roadside bomb on its way from Lebanon to Israel, near Fatma Gate. He was laid to rest in the military section of the Or Akiva cemetery. Survived by his parents and two brothers – Manny and Tomer. In a letter of consolation to the bereaved family, the battalion commander wrote: “Erez was a commander and a leader not because of his rank or sergeant course, but because he had a mature personality and leadership qualities. In August 1994, one of the best companies in the battalion, Erez was one of the pillars. He is always optimistic and smiling, always in a high morale with a word of encouragement and a broad shoulder to lean on. “In order to know what love was, he had to be recognized: trust, understanding, security, Reciprocity, warmth and hug, a word of encouragement-you could give us all. ” Nuri, his father, added: “We always felt safe when you told how confident, happy and happy you were.” You could hear joy, pride and admiration, and all that is given to Golani. ” And from the words of his friend, Adi: “LookPut it all in pink, especially the life in the doorway. You were the happiest person on earth and you made me happy for a few years … “
