Danino, Moshe
Moshe, son of Saul and Masoud Danino, was born in October 1928 in Haifa. As a child, he attended the “Yesod Ha-Dat” school, and after completing his studies he was forced to move to a working life because of his parents’ poor financial situation. His intense and persistent desire for studies and his talents prompted him to continue his studies. Moshe worked in the office of a well-known lawyer in Haifa because his wish was to study law and become a lawyer. Moshe was devoted to his parents and devoted all his energies to his family and the education of his young sisters. As a young boy he joined the ranks of the Gadna and was very active in the Sephardic Youth Association in Haifa, and his friends thanked him for his dedication to his duties and for the good spirit he spread around him. “I am not afraid of death, just as death is not afraid of me,” he wrote in one of his letters, and courageously went into battle. Moshe fell on 1 Tammuz 5708 (8.7.1948) in the attack of the Egyptian enemy on one of the Niram settlements. He was buried in Niram. On November 30, 1950, he was laid to rest at the military cemetery in Haifa.
