Damati, Gabriel (Gabi)

Gabriel ben of Ooad (Oded) and Rumia, was born onthe 29th of Elul, September 25, 1957, in Moshav Ahihud. Gabriel was drafted into the IDF in August 1976. Due to the difficult situation in the house after his father’s death, he was transferred to a school for commanders in Carmiel, near his neighborhood, where he served as a religious non-commissioned officer. He took care of the needs of the soldiers with devotion and love. During the war he took part in Operation Litani. On the 5th of Elul, June 9th, 1978, he fell in the line of duty and was brought to eternal rest in the cemetery in Moshav Ahihud, leaving behind his mother, brothers and sisters. The family also published a booklet in his memory on the first anniversary of his death.
